Slaughterhouse-Five Project

Why this topic?

I’ve always been interested in the difference between reading abilities for this book considering that I’ve always had an easy time reading it, but other books are extremely difficult. Others seem to have a really easy time reading other books until they get to this book. I believe that this is related to Attention Deficit Disorders and the ability for those with to comprehend information differently than those without. I believe that this book fits within the parameters necessary for only those with attention deficit disorders to comprehend clearly. I want to relayout the book to see if I can make it more accessible for those without attention deficit disorders to see if the layout of the book is the problem, or the subject matter. By laying it out in a linear fashion on an interactive website prototype, I hope to see comprehension rise.

What outcomes might it generate?

I believe that laying this out makes this more accessible for folks who had trouble reading Slaughterhouse-Five.

How can users be engaged?

Since I am going to be prototyping a website, I would like to have an expandable timeline that describes each jump in Billy Pilgrim’s (main character) life. Each description would have an optional link to the next chronological sequence that occurs in the book. By doing this, it encourages the user to read it not only linearly, but as the book intended in the first place.

How can a stage be set for an experience?

?

How do you document your outcomes?

In a process book.
How and when do you make changes based on outcomes? You mean critiques? I’ll make changes based on critiques in the design phase, but this is an art piece, it doesn’t necessarily make major changes when it’s released.
